Showing cows is hard work. Sustaining a dairy farm in Chatham County, North Carolina is even harder.

Dairy farming has been a way of life for several generations in Chatham county, but as the dairy industry has been in an ongoing slump—many families have found dairy an unsustainable endeavor.

Yet, many youths still gather and compete in the Junior Dairy show at the annual Silk Hope Old Fashioned Farmers Day event.

After years of teaching and performing improvisational theater, Greg Hohn recognized his students were discovering innovative ways to apply improv lessons off stage. Greg has refined his improv instruction to focus on these skills with students in non-theatrical venues.

Dance provides an opportunity for Saida Ojeda Kriz, founder of Venezuelan Dance Group, to share her pride in her culture. She is a choreographer, seamstress, and artist living in Raleigh, NC.

​Patti Jean navigates a constantly shifting role as her mother's primary caregiver. Battling the stresses of expensive care costs and feeling stuck as a mediator between her mom and the in-home care aides she hires, Patti Jean questions how much longer she can keep her Mom at home and keep herself sane.
